Pastel Artist Captures Snapshots of Nature
Wildlife Artwork for Nature Lovers
Born in Michigan, I moved to New York City when I was 21 years old to become an artist. With no money or guidance, I worked my way through college in commercial printing getting a graphic design degree. Graduating with a child on the way, I spent many years in commercial printing, and then transitioned into children's publishing while raising a family.
Years later, my children grown, and divorced, that is when I found myself back to the roots of my dreams of my youth, my artwork. I was taking a pastel class at SVA when I fell in love with pastels and color. I am now a member of the Pastel Society of America.
My subject matter shows that I am passionate about nature, and little creatures in this world that we don't take notice. I want to bring that focus to their world because it so beautiful and different than ours.
Living in the Bronx close to the NY Botanical Garden, has be a retreat and a delight as it has inspired me to paint a more botanical theme subject matter.
It is my pleasure to bring a little window of the outside world into your inside world.
